My birthday is coming up in a few months so if anyone is stuck on what to buy me... just saying... ;)

Like Randy, I was surprised that the missing link even had a rifle to hunt with. Upon actually reading the article, however, I realized what was being discussed. Zambesi, give me the exact date of your birthday, and I'll try to send it to you. I will get the current administration to earmark some money for it. And as an avid blackpowder shooter for half a century, and at therisk of being labeled a heretic, I must say how surprised I am that this design actually took off. I suspect if it weren't for military use, it would not have. If any you have fired an 1860, 66, 73, or 76 model loaded with black, you know what I mean. Black is dirty and corrosive and these guns are a pain to clean. Most of them recovered from the Indians were hopelessly worn out and pitted out. And as Andy Garcia said of the models 60 and 66..summarizing in 1878...."a buffler killed with it ain't worth nuthin, hides got so many holes in it"....referring to some of the initial loadings of 217 grain bullet driven by 26 grains of coal...........I love the history, and love the Cody Museum....thanks for posting....................FWB

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]
