Good day.
Second high-end rifle I am offering for sale to AH members. This stands far from a working gun, though!
A museum-quality piece, made by Merkel as a flagship showpiece for the IWA (in the 1980s I do not know exact year, sorry).
This rifle was bought in the 2010s from a private collector in Madrid (who was the original ownwer/never even fired the rifle to ther best of my knowledge!) and have been well cared for ever since. This rifle has not been hunted with and from our side maybe shot 20-30 times. It is a great performaer on all accounts, solid, accurate, locks up like a vault and a joy to handle and just pure pleasure to look at it.
I is a Model 323 E with hand-detachable sidelocks sporting an incredible deep relief engraving with multiple gold-inlaid African game animals... it would probably be better to let the pictures do their part of depicting this work of art.

Merkel 323 e hand-detachable sidelock, Kersten Lock-up, ejector special IWA Meisterstuck.
Quite elaborate full coverage deep relief engraving with multiple gold inlays (let us not talk about the cost of the engraving alone nowadays!).
Exhibition wood.
LOP 14,5" over pad, typical Bavarian cheekpiece and hog's back stock.
Barrles are 25" in pristine condition inside and out with original pivot mounts and Swarovski Habicht 1,5-6 x 42 with bold duplex,
Single standing rear sight and non-hooded front sight (it alings beautifully, more like a shotgun really)
Sling swivels
Comes with additional original (very outdated) red dot sight and mounts.
No case.
No additional accesories.
