1-4x abound new for $199, 1.5-5x power $299, illuminated $399.
the 1-4x for $200 are pretty good for the money, but they are not as good as $800 German optics in my opinion. The 1.5-5x models have piss poor light gathering for a $400 scope in my opinion. (I’ve owned all of these)
1.75/6 VX3 - if you can find one. Not enough people smart enough to buy them so Leupold discontinued them. The enlarged objective and consequnetly larger exit pupil makes target acquistion very quick, and FOV is pretty good.
Everybody's lovechild the 2.5/8 VX3 has bugger all field of view, perhaps because actual mag is more like 2.8 to 7.5 whereas the 1.75/6 is around 1.8 to 5.5
Unless your budget is very tight, I would not buy another 2X7 VX-2 Leupold. The 2.5X8 has so much better optics for a few bucks more, that I upgraded. I still see an occasional 1.75X6 on auction sites, and this was a VX-3 with 32mm objective and was a gem, but as Newby said, no one would buy it. I have had to pass up deer late in the evening with my 1.5X5 even though it's a VX-3 because of that 20mm objective....lots of good advice here....best of luck............FWB
I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
