I’m planning a hunt for a trophy Lioness, and wonder what kind of trophy display options I have.

I’m pretty sure I don’t want to do a full body mount, as it is expensive, and could be put towards a new hunt in stead. But, I find the skull alone to be a bit boring?

Is there a market to sell the skin to a taxidermist, if so, What am I looking at?

As most have understood I’m more into the hunting experince, rather than the trophy itself.

I have bronzed mountain lion, warthog and zebra skulls. They look great. A bronzed lion head is a good option and you can still have a rug made and have two trophies to display...

Don't think the half mount will save you much money.

No clue what the market is for Lion hides.

I believe there is a market for lion hides, not sure about lioness.

I'd recommend talking with your outfitter or a taxidermist in rsa. They can probably fill you in and navigate any legal/bureaucratic requirements.

I went with the full body mount and don’t regret it. However, had I not done that I really think I would have done the rug.

Hell with the cat, let’s have a drink out of that stocked cabinet behind it! Lol

A rug always looks cool!

Next time I have an AH get together you are invited @Bullthrower338
I actually collect bourbons and whiskey. At last count I think I had 70+ bourbons and 30+ whiskey. The cabinets you see behind the lion are about half the collection!

Yes I can attest, around the corner is another cabinet!!

And as I recall you were able to partake of some of the fine brown liquids displayed in the cabinets.

Thanks for the thoughts! I´d love to see more lioness rugs if possible? that is probably what I end up doing.
Do the taxidermy in Zim/South Africa, or get them back home?
Are they usually good at getting the skulls Bright White in Africa?

A well equipped bar is of high importance in a home office/trophy room! A G-T ,or a Scotch, while talking about hunting makes the hours pass real fast! ;-)
