I am looking for Honest accurate information on these 3 species as to what is legally allowed to hunt and Import the Animals into the USA. If you do not like hunting these species, or any current methods, this is not the discussion thread for that. This is simply about what is legal, what countries and what methods.

The laws have changed a lot, as have the methods. I may post what I think I know, and I could very well be wrong, hence the point of this post. Please if you know the current laws chime in. Please be kind, I am not trying to start anything, just need honest info before talking to the folks that offer these hunts.

Leopard: I believe it is not available to get a permit in RSA. What countrys allow leopard hunting with a gun and which ones with a bow and can they be imported into the US.

Lion: I believe they can be hunted in RSA with both rifle and a Bow but cannot be imported any longer into the USA. Can lion still be hunted anywhere else and be imported into the US? Can it be hunted with a bow in any countries and be imported into the States?

Rhino: I believe it can be hunted with a gun in RSA. Can everything be imported including the Horn? I heard it is no longer legal to hunt Rhino with a bow in the RSA. Do other countries allow Gun or bow hunting and importing into the USA?

Darting I think has changed. We darted a Rhino with a bow maybe close to 30 years ago in RSA. We had a capsule on the end of the arrow and upon impact basically a 22 discharged putting the dose into the rhino: Now I believe darting with a bow is no longer legal. Darting with a gun is also a dart filled with what they call vitamins, and another person actually darts the Rhino with the chemical, not the hunter.

Again, I may be completely wrong so please do not take my word as fact, this is only what I have heard and know. I am looking for options of the three animals, preferably with a bow, but if not available then a gun is acceptable so I am trying to understand the laws.. I really do not know much about other countries so that is the real reason for this post. If you have accurate information, please reply.. Thank you

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
