Mohawk the lion attacked a man and was put down by Kenyan park rangers. This lion was 13 years old and was likely too old to hunt and would probably have become a man eater. However unfortunate, the Kenyans did the right thing in putting him down.
This line of reasoning is beyond most people in the West. We have this 'Disney-fied' vision of animals and nature. There isn't an "old folks home" for old animals, they either die of starvation or are eaten themselves, nature is cruel and the ranger's bullet was a blessing.
