What size kudu can one realistically expect?

Hi IA diver,

We have got the cape kudu sub-species that you get in the eastern cape as well. It is hard to predict as our bulls are 100% free range with no high fences anywhere, so we are never sure what bulls are in the area at any given time. But there are a lot of kudu around, especially during the rut. We have taken bulls from 45"-52", with a lot of them being wide bulls (which our area is known for) and a good possibility of getting outward flaring tips. I can tell you that it will be a mature old bull, which to us is the most important, and an impressive trophy in anyones books.
