No , this is not a report on some named and collared Lion. I think we've all just about had enough of that.

I'm in between hunts. I woke up this morning to a wet , cold , overcast day. Strange weather for us here in the lowveld this time of the year. I rounded up the family and we decided to have brunch in Kruger.
We were treated to the normal array of game like Wildebeest , Zebra , Giraffe , Buffalo , Elephant and such. This guy however caught our attention. Lying out in the wet grass , he was looking very sternly in one direction.

Before long we saw the focus of his attention - His partner , they were obviously a coalition. Two very fine mature male lions. What a site.

The 2 Males casually approached each other. Then one of my sons drew my attention to another Big Male approaching them from the left. 3 males ! Absolutely awesome ! The Big boy on the left is obviously in a class of his own.

My obsession with Kruger and its wildlife is well known. This place is so special. I feel very fortunate to be able to " quickly " go for brunch with the family and run into this on the way. Lets hope this paradise stays preserved for generations to come.

Jan,

I wonder if I didn't see these same lions in 2010 when I was at Kruger. Great pics you got of these brutes!

It's pictures like this that make me wish I could turn back the hands of the clock many decades.

Awesome pictures!!! Hopefully it will be like for many generations to come.

Saw a pride just across the river from Kruger last week. The females were spotted first and it was obvious they had been feasting on something. Bellies were full. As we rounded a curve in the road there stood the big prid e male walking up the hill beside us. His follower perhaps a younger brighter sat on a ledge beside the road refusing to budge! I was glad they were all full.

Thanks for sharing that Brunch encounter.

Awesome. Like you that would be a awesome place for brunch, AS long as I wasn't on the menu. Thanks for sharing. Forrest
