I've just booked a hunt this May with Khomas Highland Hunting and I'm getting there via Lufthansa and Air Namibia. I just got off the phone with Lufthansa and am okay their but want to know if there is going to be any trouble or extra charges on the Air Nambia legs.

Anyone know or done this lately?

Thanks Brickburn. It will have to be on the way back only, I think, because I won't be interfacing with them on the trip out.

At least they still carry firearms, unlike others.

They have just dropped their fees on guns I’m told. I also may take this route so please let us in on costs and a report when you get back please.

I will do so Philip.

I got charged $100 US last year, Joburg to Windhoek. I hope it’s been dropped.

Nevertheless, it is the most gun friendly entry and exit I have experience anywhere.

Has nothing to do with Air Namibia, but I decided I'm going to have to go via JNB. The cheapest flight I could find was $2567 going with just the one stop in Frankfurt. Going via Qatar Airways from Houston - Doha - Johannesburg - Windhoek is $794 with them. The last leg is still with Air Namibia.

I'll be interested to see what you guys think of Air Namibia. Please report if you don't mind. Last time I went over, in 2016, we booked Delta/Air Namibia to WH in January for the August trip. Our flight over to WH was fine, but our return from WH to JB we were told at the check -in (2.5 hours early I might add) that flight was oversold and we did not have seats, even though we already had seat assignments, etc from January. No manner of arguing solved anything, so we had to catch the next one over, leaving us 1hr and 15minutes to catch Delta back to ATL. We barley, and I mean the doors to the plane were closing, made it.

Yep...That is a very hunter friendly country. Also They make it very easy to obtain your permit for your firearms. Just upload the application and have it filled out. I found the hardest part was find a police officer on Sunday morning.

How did your Air Namibia flights with firearms go? From what I can see there are no longer any fees with them for this?? AM booked with them in May of this year and am curious to hear some recent reports?
