My son wants ideas for what to do with a crocodile. We’re limited on space and long on trophies already. Other than full size mounts, what can you do with a 3 meter croc Skin?

I had assumed you’d unroll it covering a knick-knack shelf to place other mementos upon? Any other clever ideas?

Rifle case, ammo pouch and sling for the rifle you shot it with.

Some really cool ideas mentioned!

Croc-hide duffel/suitcase/carry-on bag? Belts, holsters, hatbands, knife sheathes.

If it's a real big cyka, could do a jacket or a vest even.

I would do something like this: take the nicest part of the back skin, have it attached over a flat panel of wood, oval shaped (African shield) and then either use it as the backing to put the skull on, or as a panel to insert into the door to my future study.

A simple croc flat skin I often find a bit tacky.

1/2 life size coming out of the water about to eat a baboon or monkey overhead.

Thank you all for the suggestions.
@LIFE-FORM TAXIDERMY could you please address the other’s suggestions from a professional perspective?

I had heard that trophy quality crocs are not “high quality” leather usually. Just too big and too worn. Is it reasonable to believe the hide quality will be suitable for upholstery or leather garments in most cases if you’re harvesting wild 3 meter crocs?

If you go the leather/durable goods route, use American tanning and leather out of Georgia. All they do is Alligator and crocs for the footwear & durable goods market. It’ll be the best finished product you can get anywhere, to do with as you please.

How about this desktop pencil and pen holder?

A skull mount can go on a coffee table, end table, fire place mantel, even hung on a wall. It can also be stored in a closet without taking up a whole bunch of room. It's very versatile without needing a lot of room and it gets the point across.

How about a shoulder mount? This is my 11 ft alligator, please disregard the bear in his mouth LOL!!!!

Make space to display the flat skin.
He might have a place of his own sometime.

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
