This morning when I called up this web site, I was greeted by a photograph of a gentleman with a rather haughty expression on his face, apparently all ready to embark on an African hunt. Notable was the fact that he was wearing what appeared to be a pleated kilt made of camouflage cloth and was holding his hunting rifle upright with both hands resting on the muzzle.

I imagine the ticks and other members of the insect world must have greeted this choice of hunting wear with glee, since it offered an open pathway to the tenderest parts of human anatomy. They may have been disappointed, if the gentleman's knowledge of firearms safety was accurately reflected by his pose in the photograph. He might have shot himself or some other member of the hunting group before the hunt got truly started.

I would really like to know the identity of the gentleman depicted in the photograph and how his hunt turned out, if that information is available.

You have to pick the right "hunts" to wear one. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

The wife and I each have a couple of kilts. I wouldn't consider them hunting attire for us...but you never know.

Dude ....... that baseball cap has got to go. You need to find a Balmoral bonnet or at least a Tam O'Shanter.

I had a Bamoral (shaved close so it would pass military inspection) packed in my bag for the Alexandria Christmas Walk, but for the pre-party...a ball cap is fine. For a more formal occasions I have a Glengarry.

I finally located the photo I was referring to. You can make up your own mind about this
gentleman.

He is actually wearing one of the "tacticool" pseudo kilts. But it appears as if he is enjoying himself. I want to believe the rifle is cleared for the photo.

I would like to know the story behind this photo and see a trip report.

@ BeeMaa
And here's me thinking that the man wears the pants in the relationship. Oh well I suppose you believe in equality so you can both were skirts to.
Next you will be telling me you borrow the wifes bra and knickers as well.

Funny enough, I know a Highland sportsman who regularly wears a kilt. One big exception, however, is when he goes out shooting, where he prefers tweed plus fours with shooting socks. He avoids wearing a kilt when shooting because the biting midges are such a problem, ticks as well.

On the other hand, I’ve found ticks on myself in spite of wearing trousers or shorts. If they’re around, they will find a way in regardless, though I see the logic of not making it any easier for them. ;)

Since many/most of us critens here have no idea what a Balmoral, Tam ‘O Shanter or Glengarry headwear looks like, maybe some photos of them would be in order? Until then, this is MY “formal” head gear, which I purchased in RSA during my one and only African hunt this past June. It’s oil skin! LOL

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
Boela Bekker.
