From sunny Southern Florida USA, Have always enjoyed reading collecting vintage + contemporary books and magazines on Africa hunting, game etc. been on some other forums fine and other gun and rifle-related. Most idealize vintage commercial rifles (and sxs guns), be they Mauser, Martini, Farq or other actioned. Fortunately run w a number throughout a caliber spread up to big bore. Despite an intermix w otherwise interesting souls in real life, I don’t personally know of anyone else who has such interest. Same as for an appreciation of 1700’s American and Brit furniture, bamboo fly fishing, vintage sport fishing tackle, industrial age and manual machinist work and such hobbies, the list goes on…
Work could get me to points such as Nairobi or Pretoria w govt folk, but I’d fear my time if I go out afield anywhere hospitable to a hunt would be relegated to camera shooting w out a lot of planning. So while I’ll likely never experience an in-person other-continent hunt much less Africa, vicariously this will for the time satisfy unless I could make it happen. Enjoy hunting in our Florida WMAs despite the somewhat regular mix of shin-deep waters and dry, and thorough sweating, but enjoy the still hunt stalking much the same for huskers.
Thank you for keeping up a specialized forum.
