Is there a way to do it so it'll fire in the forward position?

Thanks

I believe that you can have a Winchester style three position safety installed. The problem is finding an experienced / qualified gunsmith to do it. I chose to keep mine as it is. You just need to be aware of what firearm you are using. If it is your only one there is no problem.

I installed a Parkwest 3-position Winchester Model 70 style safety on my Brno vz.24 and I'm no gunsmith. Someone posted that Gentry has dropped his price to ~$200. I think those are better quality.

I have a wing style 2-position scope relief safety on my Springfield 03A3, a Winchester style 3-position safety on my Brno 404J, and trigger guard safety on my Browning A5 shotgun. I hunt with all three guns every fall on a day by day basis and have yet to be confused getting the guns mounted and fired. On really bad weather days I may switch to hunting birds with my old battered 870 which does sometimes cause confusion when I fail to manually cycle for follow up shot.

I dont know how, but my gunsmith did it.
Once locked, it does not stop bolt from opening. (acts like three position safety, without second position)

Optionally, buy ZKK600/ CZ 550 safety from Wayne on AHR, and install. (Winchester type safety)

Yes there is.
I own various ZKK actioned rifles.
Although the safeties are good you need to be aware that if loaded and on safe and you employ the Africa carry(which I dont) the safety can be brushed off....also when you reload at speed you could bump the safety forward causing isuues....

Instead of reversing it I would suggest a 3 position win style safety. If you are right habded first prize would be to get one that can be fitted to the left side of the action so you can switch it with your thumb as opposed to the right side

I have seen several CZ and BRNO rifles that had safeties that were pushed forward to fire, some were pulled back to fire. Best I can guess is that they were different depending on the county they were sold in.

There may be parts available to convert one to the other depending on preference.

Ontario Hunter, from all of your previous posts, I think I could "describe" you as sort of a hobby gunsmith. You certainly have done a lot more work on your firearms than the "average" guy. For some this modification might be an easy task, where others would find it daunting.

Thank you. We are hunters. Attempting that which is daunting is what we do.

Not so the BRNO ZKK series where all back to fire and when the CZ came out it was forward to fire, not country related

As an added bonus, the winchester type locks the firing pin. The Brno and Cz lock the trigger. So you get an added margin of safety with the win type.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
