HELP.. Imr 4350 Swift Aframe 300 Grain .375 h&h Load Data

Imr 4350 Swift Aframe 300 Grain Load useing a 2022 winchester mod 70 in .375 h&h ....I have the swift book just looking for all the help I can get/ experiences

I only have this powder avaliable and I have a hunt in less then one week and had an emergency and am left with only this rife ....unfortunately so il.be hiting the range one time to test before the hunt ...any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would highly recommend getting some Barns TSX 300 grs factory ammo. You do not have enough time to test your reloads and find what your rifle likes. Someone else's reloads may/may not work on your particular set up. I was in your shoes last year, and I ran out of time. Took Barns TSX factory ammo and shot everything from warthog to a lioness to a cow buffalo and some other antelopes.

I'm preparing for loading the referenced bullet for my new rifle. I have ordered the Swift manual but it's on backorder. Suggestions for powder for optimal loads with your own reloading efforts are greatly appreciated. I realize this is a poor time for reloading in general but found a new place...

I show IMR4350 with 300 grain bullet starts at 63.7 gr @ 2100 FPS up to max load of 76.3 gr at 2,500 FPS. I personally would start mid range at 71/72 gr and see how it does - that would put you in the 2300-2400 fps range

Why am I so off with the amount of powder going off of the book that seems way to low

I'm using H4350 was at 79gr with 300gr Swift A-Frames moving at 2560.

If you are in the books specs, test out what you have if you see pressure stop. Whichever load shoots the tightest run it. It is not that big of a deal. If you are holding 1MOA or better you will not have a problem. IMHO

I think everyone, including me, is a bit hesitant recommend something other than a conservative starting point. With my M70, I would start higher, but I have also developed enough loads out of it to be more confident doing so, if it was new to me rifle, I would start lower and work up. You are very short on time, so that isn't an option for you.

My thought was if you can get to 2300fps, it is going to work fine for you right now, you can adjust it later. My load for a 300gr AFrame is getting me 2500+, but that honestly doesn't matter much, other than shooting at the range.

My M70 loves IMR4350 with the 300gr A-Frame. I picked up a load suggestion here on AH years ago when I first had the rifle. I am hesitant to give you the exact powder charge as it is above the maximum listed. That said, the velocity at that charge is right around 2550fps. I'd work up from about 73.5gr which is below maximum until you get to maximum. Maximum is listed at 76.5gr in my manual.

If all looks okay at maximum but accuracy still could use some improvement, and you're comfortable with it, you can continue moving up. But please do so slowly paying close attention to bolt lift and the expended brass for pressure signs.

quickload is good but there are multiple variables needed, i.e. case length, overall loaded length, barrel length, and exact bullet.

Don't get wrapped around the axle, shoot what you have. Chances are one of those loads will work fine. You are not looking for 1/4 MOA groups. You are solid with 1MOA or better. Factory ammo shoots in most rifles, the ammo you are making will be better than Factory, find the one you have that works the best. Then load up a bunch of ammo. Otherwise you are going to burn up all your components and not have any time to replace them.
