Hello everyone, good to make you acquaintance.
I've been dreaming of an African safari for year and got bit by the bug bad when I attended the NW sportsman show this week. Was able to talk to all the outfitters that were there, now time to start planing the hut.

Best regards Mike

Welcome to AH, Mike!

Welcome to AH.

What outfits did you visit with and what country (s) are in your plans.

Look in the outfitter section for PH reviews to help you in your planning process.

What ever you decide to do make sure to do your research, get all the prior years clients so that you are able to make contact and find out there positives and negatives before you book a safari.

Thanks for all the replies, the countries I have been looking at is Mozambique and Zimbabwe. I talked to many outfitters and PH's at the show. I was talking to Russ Field Safaris and DWD Adventures (Deka Tail Safari) the most.

Mike, I'm going to ask you one question...because I have been to Africa. Wouldn't it be best to hunt in a county where the PH or outfitter resides most of the time? Meaning they have a history and solid base. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of guys that operate in multiple countries, very good guys too. If I'm hunting in Moz or Zim, I would make triple sure I have the right person.

I'm open to all suggestions, do you recommend anyone in Mozambique or Zim?

Welcome to AH, Mike !

Welcome to AH.
Read some offers on here.
There are some very good operators in both countries with offers on here.

Have fun planning your hunt.

One PH I can recommend in Zim is Martin Pieters Safaris. I would contact him to check out any legit offers in Zim.

Moz, I'm less certain. DSC has a list of outfitters they use. I don't trust the SCI list...some are good, others not so much. Moz doesn't have a very strict PH regulation.
Just my two cents.
Check references extensively!

Mike take a look at this link the guys name is Steve and he will work his ass off to get you a good deal he the one that got me to Africa for the first time Just tell him that Bob Puckett recommended him. be sure to check out his specials. http://www.africansafarisint.com/catalog/main.php?cat_id=25

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
