Greetings, fellow hunters!

I am delighted to join this vibrant hunting forum and introduce myself to this incredible community. My name is Brian, and hunting has been a lifelong passion of mine. From the crisp dawn air to the adrenaline rush of the chase, there's nothing quite like the thrill of tracking game in the great outdoors. I'm eager to share my experiences, learn from your expertise, and contribute to the collective knowledge here. Together, let's exchange stories, discuss hunting strategies, and foster a community that celebrates our shared love for nature and the pursuit of wild game. Happy hunting, everyone!

Welcome Brian, glad to see another member from Los Angeles as well.

Welcome to you! You have arrived at a great place to learn!

Good day, Brian! Welcome from our side and happy hunting to you too!

Greeting Bjsmith / Brian,

Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris of Namibia, welcomes you to the greatest forum on earth.

I was born and raised in south central Los Angeles (Torrance, Lawndale, Hawthorn, Inglewood).
However, we moved to Sacramento in 1967, where I went to high school.
Then I began moving north, living in rural Northern California until finally settling in Anchorage, Alaska, where I have lived now for 41 years, as of this month.

When you have a spare minute, take a look into the Khomas Safaris web site.

Best Regards,
Velo Dog / Paul.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
