Hey all I'm heading to the Eastern Cape of SA in the morning to hunt with Marius Goosen of KMG Safaris. This is my first safari, I booked in January of 2013 so the 17 month wait has been killing me. Got everything packed and as usual purchased a lot of new stuff, so I'm excited and nervous at the same time never been on a plane for this length of time. So thanks to everyone for their post, pictures and advice, I feel I'm better prepared because of all of you. I will post some pictures and a hunting report when I get back. Kurt

Can't wait to read the hunt report!!!

Looking forward to your report, have a great trip!

travel well, tay50
17 months of anticipatation will be well worth it mate .
hunt hard ,and while doing so enjoy the African bush and all its sights, smells, and creatures .
return safely with pages of hunting reports .
the flights to and from are the only negative experience in my opinion .
the rest will be a blast
enjoy

Have fun trying to sleep.

Enjoy your hunt. Make Marius work his butt off.

save a few for me, 48 days, KMG Eastern cape....

I bet the excitement of the safari is killing you. Have a great time, shoot straight!

You will have a great trip! The plane ride is brutal but soon forgotten. Have fun and remember you only get one First safari, so savor every moment, remember every sound and smell. Africa is a wonderful place, enjoy.

Good luck with the hunt, Marius was a good choice!

Fly safe, shoot straight and have a great trip!

Wish you the best, Kurt!

Looking forward to tons of pics on your return.

Hope you have a blast. 17 months is some serious wait time. Looking forward to lots of pictures

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.

may I suggest Intaba Safaris in the East Cape by Port Elizabeth, Eugene is a great guy, 2 of us will be there April 6th to April 14th. he does cull hunts(that's what I am doing) and if you go to his web site he is and offering daily fees of 200.00 and good cull prices. Thanks Jim
Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
