My mother has this endless ability to support any crazy idea her child comes up with. When I decided I needed a camp 2000km from our city, she was right there clearing the trees and brush for the future hunting cabin. And, she is not a hunter! At 80+ years old, she is still as active as ever. I will always be in awe of her capacity to love.

Happy Mother's Day to all those mothers who support their children in their pursuit of the outdoors.

I hope other people share stories of their mother and the great outdoors :)

She turns 89 this year and is stronger than many 50 year olds. Every hunting season, she always accompanies me and my father (91) when we go to the rice fields for the family snipe shoots. Sometimes, she will take a few shots as well with either my shotgun or my father’s and is great hand as taking the fast moving jack snipes on the wing with 24 gram #9 skeet shells.

I owe my life to her, not only for raising me but also my children. After my divorce, she and my father practically raised my two children singlehanded 5 days of the week. At that time, I was the Divisional Forest Officer of the Sundarban mangrove forests and used to stay posted in Khulna on week days. I would only get to see my children on Fridays and Saturdays until 1990. My parents packed their lunches, drove them to school, made them do their homework and never made them feel neglected.

I can’t imagine life without my parents and I pray that I never lose them.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
