Just checking if I am off base here and reacting to quickly?

Sold a rifle on Gunbroker that the auction ended on the Evening of 4/20. On 4/21 I send the buyer an email though GB letting them know as soon as they complete the buyer review in the GB checkout, I can add shipping fees to the invoice so they can see it again review the invoice and accept. Thats how GB works for those that use them.

The buyer finally completed their part of that process on 4/25 and called me saying they would get payment out. On Thursday 5/8 I send the buyer another email through GB telling them I still haven't received payment and got no response. This evening, I started the non-paying bidder process with GB. Buyer has a A+46 rating and has been on GB since 2013.

My rationale is even if they didn't send payment until that following Monday on 4/28 using first class mail,10 business days is more than enough to get it here. If I were a buyer I would have already been asking the seller if the payment has arrived and further, I only send payments via a method with a tracking number and send it to the buyer, so we both know what's happening. For full disclosure I have not called them. Reason being we are adults here and I feel I should not have to spend time chasing them down for the payment.

ETA: I had 2 auctions end on 4/20 at the same time. The other one was completed and shipped within the first week, done deal.

Yeah it happens, in college I made money buying stuff at estate sales and selling it on gunbroker.

You get people who bid and have no intention of following through; but on a couple of occasions I had people who ghosted me and it turned out they were elderly and had medical issues prevent follow through and one that had a bad motorcycle accident before payment could be sent.

It happens all the time on auction sites no matter the item. People bid AND THEN decide if they actually want to buy it. Scummy behavior. On GB can you go back and offer it to the next highest bidder?

If you cancel the order under premise of a non paying bidder and relist it, they get hit with a negative feedback and GB will credit you the fees for that auction. I don't think they have a option to sell it to the next highest.

Wasn't sure how that worked. I won a watch on ebay because the high bidder never payed and the seller messaged me offering it at the high bid. I said sure as it was only a few bucks over mine. I didn't have to compete for it again and he didn't need to re-list. They may handle things differently though.

If the USPS is as slow at the buyers location as it is at mine, I might wait a few more days and try to communicate more.

My wife mailed out letters last October, and someone got theirs in March!

I mailed out a bunch of one day in November (at the Post Office) and all the recipients have NEVER received their stuff.

I won an auction on GB on 4/19, paid by check, and still don't have what I won.

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
