Hey all, just heard SC is hearing a case for New York residents to be able to travel with their legally owned firearms. Don’t know the details, anybody hear about this? Could be big for all gun carrying legal people.

The SC has agreed to take up a case involving wether a New York City resident who has a legally registered handgun commits an illegal act by transporting the weapon outside the city which is currently illegal under city law. Per current law can only transport within the city to one of the 4 or 5 ranges in the city. Can't take it outside the city for any purpose, ie to a second home, hunting, to a range outside the city. Could reach a decision based on very narrow grounds or could elaborate through their decision on what the Second Amendment allows. We will see. Will be interesting if Ginsberg participates considering that it appears her health is declining significantly.

It's New York City, where gun owners are third class citizens. Years ago upon returning from Africa I was almost arrested for having a handgun in my rifle case. The same gun was in the same case when I left the country through JFK, but when I got back they called the airport SWAT team on me and the only reason I didn't get arrested was because at the time I was a police officer, with ID. From what I hear these days the badge wouldn't help anymore. I avoid that whole state like the plague.
