Avid reader of Hemingway and Ruark Africa books.

As a child I stalked cows, pigs and chickens on our farm--pretending they were Cape buffalo, elephants, lions........etc.

Learned to sneak up on things. :)

Always wanted to hunt Africa but never could afford it.........almost 80 now and it's too late.

So I enjoy the posts and pictures shared here.

Welcome aboard Frostbite. However, I take a little umbrage with 80 being too old to hunt Africa. I went last year at 81. Providing you are still somewhat mobile there is nothing stopping you from going. Yeah, you may have to hunt from the back of a truck but that is ok. Every Outfitter / Sponsor on AH will accommodate your advancing years. P.S. I hunted 2 on 1 with my youngest grandson and would not have missed that opportunity for the world. BTW I use a power scooter and or a wheelchair if any distance over 50 yards is involved.

:S Welcome:

Welcome to AH. True to AH form you have already been re-educated that you could still pull it off.

Glad you enjoy AH.

LOL! Maybe sometime in the future. Right now I have a blood clot in the left atrial appendage of my heart.

The future is a bit cloudy.

For now I'm enjoying just being here.

:)

Welcome to AH.... As Art @Shootist43 said. You may very well be able to still go to Africa and hunt.

My father-in-law went last year and he has some mobility issues but he had the time of his life and hasn't stopped talking about it!

Do you have any family members who hunt?

Well folks on here will be praying for you. We are all glad you are here as well:)

Please tell us of any hunting or fishing or pretty much anything you've enjoyed doing.

As you explore the site, there are threads about what people do or have done for a living. Hobby related outside of hunting (there are some incredible Craftsmen on here). Other adventures.

There is no end to what you can find.

What work have you done? Where are you located? (In general, don't post specifics).

You have roots in Central MN?

Me too.........Wadena County.

I encountered a good trophy there in 1964.

Yes, originally from Morrison County. Currently have a place in Aitkin County but just put it on the market.

That's a fantastic deer!

I'm sure we'd all love to see a hunt report on it. ;)

Good day, Sir! Welcome to AH!

Welcome to AH Frostbite!

Welcome sir-Love your Frostbite handle! Very sorry to read about your heart, blood thinners for breakfast lunch and dinner I suppose. Best of luck going forward. Some entertaining stories in the hunt report section might keep you busy and make for good daydreams.

Thanks.

Yes it's Eliquis twice a day.

I'll need some luck, so thanks.

I'm working on the story of the big buck........I'll share it here first.

Welcome to AH! Glad to have you on board.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
