Haven't shot any yet, but they weigh out nice, and I have found no blemishes on the 150 I received. I will post up my shooting results when I get the chance. Shot some of their 300gr blemished factory seconds yesterday, 3.5" at 300 yards shooting prone supported from my 375 Ruger loaded to 2520 from my 23" barrel, no where near a max load, With that kind of accuracy, who needs a max load, doubt an animal will notice another 100-150fps.

3.5 at 300 yards? Adequate. ... ;)

One more reason to start reloading!

Definitely adequate for me! I really like Alliant RL-17, sure wish it would start showing up and shelves again. The Sierra 300gr bullets I also load will shoot that at 500 yards, I don't shoot game that far, but it sure is nice to know your rifle can do it.

Good tip, thanks! Just bought 5 bxs and more 416 Rigby brass, they will work perfectly for charging jack rabbits in New Mexico this month when I take my boy on his deer hunt. Lol

More than adequate for our jackrabbits!
Lived in Las Cruces for 15 years, jacks are a great way to practice target acquisition and get plenty of shooting in. I truly miss NM

Should be a banner year with the amount of rain we received this monsoon season!
I know the elk and deer were finishing out nicely when I was on an antelope hunt last month, this was the first year in 15 that I didn't have an archery elk tag in my pocket. The country looked beautiful and green this year

Was it that way for southern CO too? I'm heading out for an elk hunt near Bayfield next week and have no idea what the weather has been like.

There is already snow in the high country of NM and CO, down South we are enjoying fall like weather with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, and lows in upper 40s, obviously cooler above 6000'. Very green, and I imagine hunting the usual water holes won't be as productive, as many of the seasonal springs are running strong. I have a cow tag for the first week of December, hoping we get some snow to push them down a bit.

I'm going home to Montana in November to hunt, my Dad said they have had above average moisture this summer. I am+1 with you on the snow to drive them down, been at sea level now over a year! At 9000' I'll have to bring my own dam oxygen!

I live at 4400', and over 9000' still taxes my lungs, I really need to focus on getting in better shape, I'm up there at least once a month.

I bought my son a left over ML mule deer tag for Oct. in unit 23, I'm not much of a smoke pole hunter, but dam fine excuse to leave here and hunt with my boys. Good luck on your hunt!

Hoping that means more elk than the last two years then! We hunt from about 8-9.50. I'm not in as good of shape as I wish I was, but should be OK.

Good luck Royal, should be a good year. My buddy is flying in right now from colorado( Durango). I will let you know what his outlook is after I talk to him tonight.

That would be great!

Tell him we hunt the south side of the big ridge that is on the south side of Vallecito Reservoir. We actually stay at Forest Lakes and drive from there (just s a few miles). If we is from Durango I'm sure he will be familiar with that area.

You got it!

I can report that these blemished bullets shoot quite well! Busting up rocks at 280 yards in high winds today.

Just curious, does any know what manufacturer the "blemished" bullets come from? On the Midway site, they said they were bulk repackaged.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
