About a year ago, a popular site was clearing out the discontinued Leica Geovid 3200.com 10x42 for <2k. Gift for my wife since we were sharing my Zeiss 10x45 RF that I also picked up on clearance years ago. While playing with the new Leica I discovered I couldn't get a reliable range on non-reflective objects beyond 300-400 yards. I tried new batteries, updated firmware via bluetooth, read the instructions thoroughly to make sure I wasn't an idiot, then contacted Leica and shipped it to them. It took a few months, but eventually I got an email explaining that the part needed to repair is no longer available, so they shipped me the new/improved Geovid Pro 10x42.
Rarely do I ever need a warranty on higher end stuff like this, but I am pleased. It was straightforward and the result was satisfactory. It did take some time but since I had a backup bino it wasn't an inconvenience.
