Hunter's shooting the lion from a VEHICLE ????????????

South Africa is given a bloody hard time when it comes to lion hunting and in the mean time an operator knows the potential danger of this type of nature of hunting yet does it and advertise it! Silly mistake.

So let me get this right shooting a lion off the back of a truck where it will most likely not get to you especially having a broken front leg and all is ethical? LOL as long as there are no fences I guess it’s ok then LOL.

In the meantime I keep saying that it is in the way that you hunt and not where!

Louis you did hit the nail with that one, but then i think the excuse will be a hip replacement or something like that.
Johan

Johan excuses don’t take much to make but I am afraid that this is not the way that moral hunters should be doing things, had they been on foot it would be an entire different matter it just goes to show how little it takes to brake the moral ethics of hunting and we should be aware of it at all times.

Boasting about this would just lead to more trouble in the hunting industry or if I can put it in a different way give the greenies ammunition to shoot us with!

Can not agree more with you. This is just to give the anti hunting parties a stick.
Keep well
Johan

Isn’t this the same operator that took the 100pound elephant in Mos?

It is true that this will give the greenies more ammo to shoot us with but why do it from the back of a truck from the first place? I have hunted many lion and wounded some.... If you can wound them on foot or while sitting in a blind where they do not even know about you then you can surely look for the wounded animal on foot....! That is where experience and proffesionalism comes in! Just my 2cents.

Jacques,

Very well stated ..............

lousy first shot, waiting to long with second shot, second and third shot also lousy (wrong caliber ??). Shooting from a vehicle ? These are no hunters ...

I can't remember who exactly said that "A lion loses all his dignity when dead...." Ruark maybe? At any rate, this video is depressing and the music makes it even worse.

This is definitely not the kind of propaganda that is going to win over the suburban soccer mom when you are trying to explain the benefits and necessity of hunting. Just my 2 cents.
Jason

Hi Jason I can’t agree more.:agree:

This kind of video might be the last thing we need in the hunting industry today better lock it away in a dark room where it will never see the light of day.

Just bad for people who love hunting all the way around.

Bee Keeper,

Totally agree with you all on to it ........

Hunters?? I think not!! Video clips like this really harm our sport. Unfortunately, I have seem many clips like this on U-tube. It is a shame.

Mike

I have to agree with all. Not real hunting. Simply killing and will NOT bring hunters closer to the non-hunters of the world. My question is this. Why would someone be so dumb as to post it in the first place?

Goes to show just because you can afford to hunt lion should not mean that you should be allowed. Both the hunter and PH are absolute wankers.

I am sure that all of you that posted above have never hunted "unethically"? U can't judge a drug addict if u are a drunk. What they did is maybe wrong, but judge yourself first and see if you cant find any mistake in your hunting ways.

For your information this Lion was presumed dead BUT the PH felt it was prudent to follow up with the Toyota due to fading light. A wise decision as it turned out...
IMHO, only a fool would follow a wounded Lion on foot when a vehicle is available, especially with a Client .
The PH is one of the best I've hunted with and I've hunted with many great Zim PH's.
However, YOUTUBE is certainly not the best place for such footage.

The only thing I find disturbing is that the OP posted this in praise of the hunt, yet the very same day started another thread calling Mark Sullivan Disgusting.
