This forum clearly has a plethora of information, but since I'm planning on doing my first plains game hunt this summer, I would like to find some good books to read-up on a bit...

What are some of the essentials that you recommend for hunting in Africa??

I don't want to build a library on the topic, but sort of the top picks...

Thanks!

Charlie

For an honest pretty much up to date view of African hunting, its hard to beat the writings of Craig Boddington. He has a number of good books and co-authored African Hunter II, an updated version of the classic 'African Hunter' by James Mellon from 1970. The old classics are great but hardly current.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
