Here is a peach of a gun for those of you that wanted a nice shotgun but didn't have the cash to outlay for an expensive british double.

This is a German "Guild Gun" made around 1931. There is no maker's name on it but I suspect it to be a Sempert or a Simson.

What makes it a really rare/desirable piece are four things:

1.) It's a 16 gauge
2.) It has a 15.5" Length of pull, unprecedented for a gun of this era.
3.) It has 30" barrels, again very hard to find in this era.
4.) It has a vintage leg of mutton leather case that fits it. (again, finding a 15.5" LOP, 30" Barrel, 16 gauge case...good luck)

Clean bores. Roughly choked Mod/Full or similar. Good wall thicknesses. 2-3/4" chambers. Nice wood. Good checkering. Cocking indicators! Some engraving. Weighs 6-3/4 pounds. Modest cast. Workable modern drop at comb and heel.

Minor dents and scratches can be found throughout. A completely acceptable and functional shotgun of pre-war quality ready to take afield. You will not find a better quality shotgun with these specs for this price. The case needs a handle and a new cap. The case in current condition is worth $150 and is included with purchase.

First-person to say "I'll take it" gets it for $1000 delivered to your FFL. (or to you if you have a C&R License)

Beautiful piece, and in my favorite (the greatest) gauge. But don't have the funds.

Does it have bushed firing pins?

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
