I live in Corpus Christi so I boarded up yesterday and fled for high ground at 4 am this morning. Reports coming in from those that stayed back isn't too bad yet but landfall still 6 hrs away. I thought some of you could appreciate my priorities. I moved it away from the windows and tarped up

Glad you'll be safe. I hope the caped crusader makes it through the storm unscathed.

Smart move and be safe. I hear some areas are expecting 50" of rain over the next few days!

Hope all goes well, you and your family are the most important things!

Thanks guys . I have 65 mounts in the house and because of the amount, I have the SCI taxidermy insurance policy for things just like this. This program insures both mount replacement AND hunt replacement costs. If I remember the kudu carries a $4,500 insured value and so on. Hopefully I won't need to find out. My neighbor that stayed back says my wood privacy fence is already down :cry:but it wasn't exactly in prime shape going in. I was expecting it to go down

Glad you're safe. As tough as it is, evacuating is often the best course of action.

Hey man....when you're done with that hurricane, can you send it my way?

....sitting in Houston waiting for the 'cane to hit the fan.

Tim

Thoughts and prayers for all of you that are having to deal with Harvey and all the flooding. 30+" of rain for low lying flat terrain doesn't sound good.

All the best.

Hope the bark is worse than the bite. Best of luck to our Texan brothers & sisters.

Buckwild,
We must have a drink the next time I am in Corpus! Thoughts and prayers that all is standing in the end brother!

Best of luck guys. Been worried about everyone in the way of this. Hope you make it through without too much trouble... Bruce

Best of luck! I live in Lubbock if I can be of help. One of the charter schools we do work for has a campus in Corpus and they closed down yesterday to prep for it.

Best wishes everyone. Hoping for the best. Stay safe!

All the best to you and others impacted by Harvey. I have a daughter in Houston, so I am concerned about her. We lived 15+ years in the New Orleans area and 3 years in Houston so all my kids grew up knowing the hurricane evacuation drill. The only damage we ever had was from Katrina and that was a tree landing on the house. We have relatives in north Louisiana, so our hurricane plan was always to run early and run often.

I just saw that there are 20,000 cruise ship passengers on ships in the path of the hurricane.....

Been keeping you and Lowell in my thoughts and prayers. Staying in Houston right now - let me know if I can serve in any way.

Got back to Corpus last night. Very minor damage and certainly very grateful. Power just got restored 3 hours ago. We were spared by 30 miles !!!
Darin- Lowell's house is still standing. Not sure of any damage at this point. It pancaked a lot of stuff for sure.

@buck wild What's premium run on that policy?
