Came across this little gem in my local pawn shop. Fausti 20ga. Any idea on worth? Or quality. The quick internet search reveals most models over 2k and good quality. I know nothing about them. No model markings that I can see on it.
Pistol grip stock. Single trigger. Screw in chokes selective ejectors.
I put a deposit on it before it got away. Any insight would be appreciated

Probably a fair price. I would be tempted to offer a bit less if they don't know the model etc. Hopefully has all the chokes and wrench.

No extra chokes , wrench or paper works.
Sounds like it was part of a estate collection
Do you know what model this is?
How are they as casual skeet and bird gun?

No idea of the model. I have handled a few here and there and they seem well made. It would probably work quite well for what you want to do with it. If it were me I would politely ask if they would take a little less. Trying to find chokes may not be the easiest task if you wanted some different ones. If not go with your gut and have fun with it.

You could also try messaging @rookhawk and ask his opinion. Be is well versed in such things.

Fausti is a good solid gun. It is easy to get chokes from Briley in Houston.

I've had a Fausti Caledon in 20g for several years. Love everything about it. Quality is good. Took a bit of early break in but I hunt quail and clays with it. Mine was $2k used and to my knowledge the Caledon is the cheapest model they make. They go up from there. In some cases way up. Great find.

Fausti 20ga my buddy had one custom built with Prince of Wales grip, fits me perfect if he ever puts it up for sale I'll be buying it.

I have a Fausti that I bought new at a factory visit back in (IIRC) 2021. Working with Barbara was a pleasure. They are a good family.

My understanding is Mr. Fausti (the sisters' father) worked for Beretta, and had a "better idea" to improve things. This idea was not something Beretta was interested, and so he moved down the street and opened his own shop. I drove past Beretta when visiting the factory. When he retired, his three daughters took over the company and are running it today.

I think (but do not know) that Fausti started selling guns in the US for other companies (i.e. a Cabela's gun made by Fausti) and this is a common business model in Europe. A few years ago (perhaps 2015 or so? Not sure) Fausti opened FaustiUSA as their own importer selling their own guns.

The Caledon is their entry model, and only offered in in O/U. I believe that sold new for about 2400 euro.

Mine is an SLX over under. If I could see the logo on the bottom of the trigger guard, I could hazard a guess at the date it was made. They changed the logo about 2021 or so because as it was "shrunk" to fit the trigger guard, it lost detail, so they came up with a simpler design.

Looking at today's offering on the website, it looks like an SLX. From what I can tell, all Faustis are box locks, but the SLX has a side plate to "appear" as a side lock. I can't find my price list right now, but figure about 3500 euro new.

It would be interesting to see the proof marks, etc. under the hand guard.

I'm biased, because the gun I have was "fit" to me, and I was blown away by how easy it was to shoot when. I finally had it. I am NOT a good shotgun shot, but it is well balanced and goes exactly where I point it.

Chokes, etc. should be available from the US importer in Fredericksburg, VA. They will also be able to tell you a lot about it.

I'll admit it, I'm a Fausti fan. A lot of that has to do with the customer service I received during the purchase process, and I'm very happy with the gun. They also travel to the US yearly, to attend SHOT, DSC, SCI, etc. They deserve to be more well known than they are.

There is an article about them in Sports Afield magazine volume 247 number 6-Nov/dec 2024. I’m confident you can access it on line in you have inclination.

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a member since 2015 but haven’t been active since 2017. Life got busy, especially with building my second business. Still, I’ve kept my passion for hunting and followed things from afar. Now that I have more time, I’m excited to reconnect, contribute, and be part of the community again.

All the best,

I'd like a bag of 100. I could actually pick it up since I'm in North Irving, but if you prefer, shipping it is fine.
