Thanks to a successful trip to Zambia last week, I am getting very close to the Big 5 and Dangerous 7 with a bow. I need a leopard (I think I will get that in a few years, probably in Zambia) and a rhino.

I am now looking for a rhino, with a bow. I realize that is not allowed by law at the moment but I am hoping there is a government study or something I can get in on and be the vibe doing the shooting.

Would have to be 2026 or later. I am booked for 2025 now.

Bowmar did a bow dart hunt on one last year maybe? Might contact him for details. It’s on YouTube.

Yeah, I am familiar with the dart hunts. I was wanting a traditional one. Sucks that only rifle guys get to do those now.

You haven't unpacked yet after the elephant hunt, and you are already looking for rhino and leopard!
Nothing less than that!

When you read other peoples posts, it is like, African safari was great, and we are coming back on next safari in 4 years!

O man, you really have energy and motivation!
Congrats!

Well, anything I need to shoot with an 85lb bow is on the short list to be prioritized. I don't know how many more years I will be able to pull that kind of weight.

I will unpack tonight. Putting the feelers out for the rhino, but I have been looking for rhino with a bow since 2018. Closest I have been able to get is a dart hunt. Keeping my CV up to date for the permit application if I get a whiff of a chance.

ill ask my outfitter. He's got POCs all over 4 countries.

There are regulations in SA (TOPS- Threatened or Protected Species- Regulations) that prohibit hunting of rhino with a bow. Would have love to help.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
