Good day all!

I'm planning my first African hunt, as a part of family holiday trip to Namibia in June 2024. I have googled and checked this site for a while now, but there are just too many options :) I would appreciate offers or hints towards outfitters that would have good package of about five days of hunting (might be able to extend a bit) with nice facilities and possibly activities for family also.

As a first timer I'm looking for pretty basic plains game hunt with reasonable budget, no strict requirements for any specific animals at this time.

Thanks in advance!

I’d PM every outfitter listed here on AH that operates in Namibia with what I’m after.
read hunt reports on same.
Select and enjoy.

Check out Zana Botes safaris
I had an absolutely super time there this year

Jan Oelofse Hunting Safaris https://www.janoelofsesafaris.com is a great outfit. My first safari of any kind was with them. I took eight animals home. Second safari with them produced a nice trophy leopard. I belive they have since undergone some major upgrades to the facilities. They have two sections one for hunting and another for exploring (tourist stuff which includes dinosaur footprints, baby rhino's they adopted from poached mothers and many more. Check out their website.

What activities does your wife like, and ages of the kids?.... may help others recommend for you. It can be overwhelming when trying to decide. @BRICKBURN gave you sound advice............best of luck, but remember: looking, investigating, and deciding is a big part of the adventure.............FWB

Thanks for replies everyone! I will be checking out all recommendations. Kids will be 2.5 and 9 years.

That is a great question. Let us know who you go with. I hope to go to Namibia one day also.

Hallo there, we just had a family from North Dakota with 3 children, aged 5, 8 and 10 that came hunting with us. We have a swimming pool for the kids and we also took the mon and kids to a tame cheetah park and before they headed back to Etosha National park for a day / stay over.
Please feel free to email us and we will send you some references to call.
We only take one group at a time and will definitely make your trip one to remember.

Please email us and send some dates through that you were thinking of.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ
