I was interested in having European mount replicas made from some animals that I have had shoulder mounted. My daughter wants a couple for her apartment. Kudu and Gemsbok.

I know this is common with fish, provide the taxidermist with photos and measurements. Does anyone have any experience with big game animals ? If so, could you please provide contact information.

Thanks all.

I have done replica skulls for whitetail (skull ruined by garage taxidermist) and moose (giant set of sheds). McKenzie sells those faux skulls but I don't think they make anything African. Check their online catalog. A good taxidermist could cast a reproduction skull with silicone molding material if he has a good skull to use as a model. But that silicone stuff is expensive as is the casting material. I cast a replacement horn for a mountain goat and it was pricey. Turned out very well though.

I suggest looking for euro trophies for sale on line and simply swap out the horns. She could then use the bought horns to make wall lamps.

Or your daughter could go with cap mounts. Here's a couple of mine.

Are your horns removable? They would need to make a mould.

FYI, it would be very expensive to have done, over $1,000 each.

I would just buy an actual european mount off of ebay and call it good.

Here is a company that specializes in what you want, I have had friends that used them for sheep and bison.

There is a taxidermy shop In Pennsylvania that does a 3D scan of a skull and makes reproductions. I can’t remember the name of the shop. Not sure if they could do a replica of something already mounted. It could be Kanati now that I think about it.

In Minnesota try Wild Images in Motion.

Hello, My wife and I hunted with Marius 2 years ago. He fit us into his schedule after a different outfitter "bailed" on us. He was always very good with communications and although we didn't end up meeting him personally, he called us multiple times during our hunt to make sure things were going well. We were very happy with him.

Reach out to the guys at Epic Outdoors.

They will steer you right for landowner tags and outfitters that have them.

I have held a membership with them for years and they are an invaluable resource.

Way better that asking random people on the internet...WAY better

Skydiver386,

Did you ever find your 30-06 CZ550? I own a fairly solid conditioned one, if you wanted to talk.
