I have several kudu, and impala skull & horn sets that I want to display as Euro' mounts. During shipment and handling the "nose bones" and in some cases the longer bones above the nasal cavity have separated from the skull. I'd like to reattach them.

I'm looking for advice regarding an adhesive, or bonding material.

Ideally:

It would bond fairly quickly, within a minute or two, (but not instantly) and dry clear or white.

Bonding too quickly - almost instantly like the "superglue" I'm familiar with, doesn't allow a little time to get the bones properly positioned, before the bond sets.

Ideally, I would apply the adhesive and then have 30 seconds to a coupla' minutes to position the pieces and hold them by hand while it bonds.

Also a product that dries perfectly hard with no tacky or rubbery finish that attracts dust.

I have used "Elmer's" water soluble glue for some skull repairs, usually gluing teeth back into place, and it works very well for that.
But it is slow to bond, and I've not come up with a way to "clamp" the bones to the skull during the 30 plus minutes Elmer's glue takes to bond.

Do any members have experience with this and can recommend a product like I'm describing?

Thanks.

Post a photo. Your description of problem is not clear.

We deal with loose nose pieces all the time in our taxidermist business. We use superglue to tack the side nose piece on, then after it dries and set, reinforce seam on inside with clear epoxy. Then go to the other side and do same if needed. Finally, pull the two sides together with plastic tie over the nose and use superglue to hold the seam together down center of the nose bridge.

Don't use gorilla brand superglue. It yellows.

I've always just used clear super glue and never had a problem.

But you need to trial fit one piece at a time before applying the glue and moving on to the next piece.

Idem for me, superglue.

Use Superglue GEL. It's thicker and allows for a minute or so before fully curing.

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?

Hi Green Chile, I just recently bought a 470 NE barrel for my Thompson Center TCR 83-87 single shot. Im just looking for some 470 NE to shoot at the range just to try it out. I dont need anything special but I just wanted to see what you have left. I dont necessarily even need a full box.
Thanks
Bill
