Driving JNB to East London

How much perfer driving myself when we go to Africa. I've driven all over the country to Kruger to the Kalahari Limpopo in Cape Town. I have however never done the road to East London from JNB. If someone else is done the drive can you let me know how it is. Don't want to end up in a situation like that road from Valwater to Alldays ever again.

I believe it's quite a hike, I've only flown. I'd be interested on the answer as well.

BTW, what happened from Valwater to Allday? Care to explain? Thanks!

That road hasn't been maintained in 25 years there are literally tens of thousands of pot holes. What we thought was going be a one hour drive turned into about 9. Flat tired no Jack in the car was an awesome experience....lol
