Stunning detail Dennis!

Fabulous. So Dennis what are the differences in the two species?

My apologies if I step on your toes Dennis, I take note that the question was directed at you.

Burchell = plains zebra
Hartmann = mountain zebra, which at times is also referred to as the Quagga.
(True Quagga's being extinct)

Hartmann zebra: Black stripes with plain white stripes over the hind quarters and ribs.
Burchell: They have the brown / shadow stripe in the white, in between the dark black stripes.

Hartmann: Stripes over the ribs stop short, leaving a white stomach.
Burchell: Stripes axtend all the way to the bottom of the stomach.

Hartmann: The stripes going down the legs go all the way to hooves.
Burchell: Stripes down the legs stop short of the hooves.

Hartmann: Have more rounded or oval shaped ears.
Burchell: Ears are a little more pointy.

Hartmann: Hair growing above the nose, going up towards the eyes, is red in color.
Burchell: Hair growing above the nose is black.

Hartmann: Has a prominent dewlap
Burchell: No dewlap.

Then the spoor of the two species differ, Hartmann herds normally consist of smaller groups than Burchells and the Hartmann's stripes on the back is in a grid form.

Very cool.....we have one of each on same pedestal as well with one drinking...cool to have them together sp people can see the difference. Hope to add a cape mountain this year!

Makes me want to shoot some more zebra

On the hit list in Namibia this year if time permits.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
