On the tranquil banks of the LUANGA GRANDE river lies Mparabanja camp, tactfully positioned within the well managed LUIA safari area.
Spanning an impressive 800,000 acres of pristine leopard habitat, this vast expanse promises not only exceptional trophy opportunities, but also unforgettable hunting experiences. The hunting block is encompassed by the Eastern Miombo woodlands, an ecoregion characterized by a blend of grassland and woodland, stretching across northern Mozambique, southern Tanzania, and South-Eastern Malawi.
Despite the region's modest rainfall and relatively nutrient-deficient soil, the Miombo woodland is teeming with life, serving as a sanctuary for numerous species. From endemic bird and lizard species to iconic mammals such as African elephants, buffalo, zebra, and a variety of antelopes—including the majestic Greater Kudu, Livingstone Eland, Johnsons's Impala, Roosevelt sable, and Lichtenstein's hartebeest. The woodlands offer a rich biodiversity, for example, the Roan antelope thrives in this corner of the Eastern Miombo woodlands.
The Miombo woodlands supports a variety of large carnivores, including the Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Spotted hyena, and Side-striped jackal. Rare sightings of the African wild dog point to a transient population traversing the region.
The LUIA hunting area is located on the North shore of Lake Cahorra Bassa, and presents a complex of Granite extrusions and Inselbergs which create an idyllic habitat perfectly suited for supporting a stable leopard population. In line with the LUIA conservation efforts of sustainability, we limit our trophy harvest of adult male leopards per year. This translates to an offtake of approximately 1 big male per 250,000 acres, ensuring both the preservation of future prospects, and superb trophy quality animals.

At Panther Trackers, we understand that the pursuit of leopards demands a strategic approach tailored to the preferences and abilities of each individual sportsman. Hence, we offer two distinct methods, Bait & Blind and Scent Hounds, each designed to cater to varying hunting styles and aspirations.
For those who thrive on the anticipation of the hunt, Bait & Blind offers a compelling experience. This reactive approach relies on patience, commitment, and a keen understanding of leopard behaviour. With meticulous planning and unwavering confidence, hunters await the opportune moment to harvest a prized rosetted cat from the seclusion of a naturally fabricated blind.
Alternatively, our preferred method involves the exhilarating pursuit with hounds. This proactive approach immerses the hunter in the leopard's world, relying on intense tracking and a deep understanding of their ecology. Guided by our expert team and skilled canines, we embark on a thrilling journey to conquer the the most aged male cat, on his terms and homebase advantage, within the action packed 14-day hunting period.
At Panther Trackers, we pride ourselves on providing an immersive and unforgettable experience, where every day anticipates the thrill of the chase. With our commitment to excellence and dedication to conservation, your journey to harvest a leopard is not just a hunt, but an intense exploration of the world of Africa's big cat.
