I bought this rifle in MAR, 2020 from another AH member with the intention of customizing it in my rifle shop. I shut the shop down in July, 2022 due to medical issues. I never got to do anything to the rifle but drool on it (carefully wiped off) and dry fire it several times. Therefore, this rifle needs to move on down the road to someone that will use it to slay game.

I have NOT fired the rifle. I have set a 500 grain Hornady DGS into a new Norma .458 Lott case and it chambered nicely. This confirmed for me the information from the previous AH owner that it has been reamed out to .458 Lott from .458 WINMAG. Therefore, it can fire both cartridges. As you can see from the left side chamber photo, the rifle has not been marked for .458 Lott yet. My memory from the purchase is that the rifle has had maybe one box of ammo put through it by the original owner.

I could find only two blemishes/dings to the stock – faint safe dings on the left side, and a piece of the recoil pad toe came off. However, if you see something questionable in the pictures, I’ll be happy to take a more detailed photo. I am not a photographer, but did try earnestly to clearly display the condition of this rifle.

It’s time for someone else to enjoy all these features and free up a little room in my vault. Feel free to ask any questions publicly or send a PM if you prefer.

Buy with confidence from @USMA84DAB - He's a solid guy.

GLWTS

I just got a chat back from the AH member I bought this rifle from. He can't really remember the number of rounds he put through it, but opined it was less than 60.

My apologies for "under-remembering". I hear that is an age thing...

Nice looking rifle. It should sell quickly.

Gentlemen and Ladies,

This is a very good buy of a rifle no longer in production.

Buy it when it's available. If you wait until you need it someone like me will have bought it because we know it will appreciate in value.

I have had some kind offers for trades for this rifle. Sadly, I must sell it as I am now in debt to Tarbe for his gracious terms of sale on his VX6HD 1-6x24. I need the money to make good on this obligation to him.

Also, I purchased this to work over in my rifle shop. Since that is no longer a viable use of the rifle, I am working to recover some of my investments out of the actions, rifles, parts, etc.. I really need to bring some money back to my Lovely Spousal Unit vs. "ANOTHER" rifle. I am sure you lads with wives understand.

Thanks.

I am the same way - I bought up a bunch of Enfield receivers for the construction of more dangerous game rifles. Now I must have something like 8 of them. More than I willl be able to consume if I was able to feed my big bore habit. I just haven't gotten that far in sorting out the shop yet.

I bought powerball tickets for a month after I found out CZ was stopping production of the 550, trying to have funding to buy as many as i could, but no luck - LOL!!!!

Hopefully, someone will be at the right point - wanting a rifle, having the money, but not being like me or you yet, with numerous "projects" and "precious" rifles already in hand!

If you’re interested in letting go of one of those enfield actions… I might be interested in taking one off your hands :)

If you are going to let go an enfield Magnum action. Let me know.

I had several Enfield actions already worked that I lost in a house fire, now only have 2.

Sorry to hear that. That is not good. But at least have two. That is the bright side. Good luck.

Someone is gonna get a great rifle!

I made 6 dummy cartridges - the bolt closes over them all, leaving an empty chamber. I cycled them through 15-20 times. In the first 5 cycles, the left side cartridge nosed into the side and stopped twice. It happened once more in the next 5 cycles, then never occurred again. Cartridge OAL was 3.565"

The feed ramp needs to be polished, as it has a very clear "X" from the bullet noses rubbing as they leave the magazine.

I only had Hornady DGS projos to work with, but it seems this new rifle is breaking in quite nicely.
