One of my CZ 550 Magnum rifles has “Max. 3800 bar” roll stamped to the side of the action.
I am not quite sure how to read that number.
There is no pressure inside the action, only bolt thrust which of course depends on the diameter of the case, all else being equal.
I have seen the 550 chambered in all sorts of modern calibers far exceeding 3800 bars.
460 Weatherby and 338 Lapua just to name a couple with high pressures.
I am not sure in which caliber this action is born but my guess would be 505 Gibbs.
Then the stated max. pressure would make some sense.
Anybody else with this stamp and what caliber?
