Cyclone in Mozambique and Zimbabwe

Cost of Cyclone Idai’s devastation
In Mozambique, it is estimated that 700 000ha of agricultural land have been destroyed, which will leave many farmers without a harvest this season.

“This is a major humanitarian emergency that is getting bigger by the hour,” said Herve Verhoosel, senior spokesperson for the UN World Food Programme (WFP).

It was reported that more than 700 people had died to date, and more than 600 000 had been displaced in Mozambique, which was hardest hit. The death toll in Malawi stood at 60 and at 185 in Zimbabwe.

If the average family lives off less than 2 ha, that’s a lot of people without a crop this year.

Then, lets imagine the impact on the bush meat trade with that many very hungry people.
Beyond the habitat devastation, wildlife is most certainly going to be taking a hit.

I’m sure the cyclone is going to have lasting effects for the areas that were hit hard. Things will recover but it won’t be over night. Months of struggle ahead.

This time its northern Mozambique that is getting it.

Geez, they can't catch a break this storm season. More thoughts and prayers heading for the folks impacted.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
