I talked to Stuart Williams of Tally-Ho a couple days ago. We discussed that a hunter could bring a long range (300-600+ yards) rifle along and shoot baboons. One would have to ask Stuart but chances are "add on" baboons would be little or probably no charge other than daily fees.
Baboons are very destructive and also very, very smart. They will avoid any human threat. A hunter or two acting as modern day American bison woodchuck hunters could help Stuart reduce their numbers!
Hmmm, I do have a safe full of varmint and long range target rifles…
I shot this baboon at Tally-Ho standing on my tip toes, aiming through two fences. I waited until it raised its head above the log in the photo and lights out! Rifle used was a Pre-64 M70 by Jim Kobe in 375 H&H.
Here is the baboon I also shot at Tally-Ho. I have booked the cull hunt, and will work with Stuart to shoot a few of these as well. There are plenty. I plan on doing the cull hunt with a pistol. A photo of him (the baboon) in his new home.
