Just wondering if there is any danger in cooling a over heated Suppressor with water? Have any of you done this before? Does this void any warranty that you may have? Thanks for your response.
I wouldn’t do it. You may create stressed sue to differential cooling and crack the metal.
I knew what you meant.Good grief, either fat fingers or autocorrect got me. I was trying to say that water cooling will create internal stresses due to differential contraction of the metal. This could very possibly cause structural damage. Do not do it!
This is what my friend used, he attached some surgical tube and pumped air through the barrel.

This….aka thermal shock. Think of a hot cookie pan being dunked in cold water, the principle is the same.I wouldn’t do it. You may create stressed sue to differential cooling and crack the metal.
You can find our military guys doing it with surefire cans. I'll give surefire one thing. They may not be the quietest or the lightest, they are one of the most robust.I agree that it is a bad idea. It would be difficult to get water evenly on the suppressor and not result in the metal wanting to warp.
But, I would watch a you tube video of someone doing it and bite my fingernails in anticipation of a calamity.
