Capes For Sale From Zimbabwe & Zambia (L. Eland, Puku, L. Hartebeest, Bushbuck, Kafue Lechwe)

I have decided to euro mount most of my trophies from the past few years instead of shoulder mounting them. These are all specific to these 2 countries. For the most part I do not know what to ask for these, all are in the dried/salted state from D/P with exception of the Livingston Eland, which is tanned and ready to mount.

Measurements as follows: A- 12.5' B- 37' C-45' D-58'
Folded up shipping measurement is 19' by 7'
Nice looking coat and black mop

Puku- shoulder mount cape
L. Hartabeest- shoulder mount cape
Chobe bushbuck- shoulder mount cape
Kafue Lechwe- extended shoulder mount cape to encompass some of the legs similar to how some Auodad are done

You might PM Dennis and see if he is interested. However, you have some of the more rare plains game, personally I would shoulder mounting those, especially the Kafue Lewche and Chobe Bushbuck.

I might add the markings on the Kafue Lewche are what make that trophy.

Thanks for the suggestion. My idea when hunting all these was to shoulder everything. My plans and wall space have made me change directions on that plan. So I am starting to Euro most things now, and have learned to be ok with the skulls and pics versus shoulders.

You will have a hard time moving these on to another hunter for obvious reasons. I would get on the internet and call a few taxidermists who showcase a lot of African game in their galleries. You will likely be disappointed in the offers - particularly the salted capes (you may be lucky to even give those away), but anything is better than letting them gradually absorb humidity and be ruined. Good luck. Sooner or later we all have to deal with the tyranny of space.

Virtually all bushbuck have bare hide along the top of the neck.
