Canvas rifle slip

That’s like asking the Queen if she wants a hotdog for breakfast.
If a hot dog fills the queen's gut, it fills her gut. Gun sock folds up into nothing and protects his rifle from lodge to truck. That's what he wanted. Fills the bill. He didn't specify he was going to style show.

I suggest he contact his lodge owner. Mine has a stack of soft cases I can use. His would obviously have at least one available from the rental rifle he won't be using. I'll bet dozens of clients have left their soft cases behind as "tips".

I use this one from Midway.

They roll up into a very compact size. It is elastic and open on the bottom side, so they go on and off a scoped rifle quickly. As seen in the picture, you can use it while the rifle is slung over your shoulder but when it is stored on the gun rack, the rifle is well protected. I use them on very dusty ranches in South Texas and my rifle never gets dirty anymore. And they are only $15... heck, buy several and leave them with your guide.

Century Leather Products(formerly Uber) in Owatonna Mn will do hair off or on tanning of skins, have had them tan deer, elk, nilgai, oryx and axis hides. The hair off are generally done in 6 months, hair on in one year. Will also manufacture items, clothing, luggage and gun cases. Am a user of their lined 3 finger deerskin shooting mitts for very cold hunts. Used Cow Creek Taxidermy in Boerne Tx to do a beautiful golden and brown hair on elk hide as well as axis, their final product is softer to hand than Century.
If a fabric sleeve is needed suggest Aqualon from a marine canvas shop, should be an easy job for what they normally do. Aqualon is a thin fleece backed waterproof synthetic, lighter than sunbrella.
There are several tanneries in Texas, Cow Creek was the only that would accept direct from a client. The others told me candidly that If they accepted direct from client the taxidermists would boycott their tanneries. While I understood their position, I just wanted a rug not a mount and objected to having to use an intermediary.

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
