Nyala have always intrigued me as perhaps being second behind Bongo as the most uniquely beautiful antelope. I've seen many while hunting in South Africa of course but never wanted to take one as they were either in a smallish pen and seemed almost domesticated, or not a truly mature specimen. However I saw two on my elephant hunt that were wild and impressive. Unfortunately I never had a shot opportunity while they were in the hunting blocks. One was across the river and border. The ran to a neighboring property then stood there presenting himself but off limits
And then I made it up to Crooks Corner in Krueger and my God what massive Nyala
I've always wanted to hunt a wild one in it's Indigenous area!
They are special to hunt free range. I took this one in Mozambique about a 6-8 hour jeep ride north of Crooks Corner.
