This fellow hunted his first wolf in Northern Alberta. It is also his first videography attempt.
Pretty good job.

Awesome!

Do you see the effort that guy out into the blind and all the crap he hauled.

It made me nuts to see him dragging the Wolf by the hind leg after all, he did have a sled.

Helluva hound...........thanks for posting......................FWB

Very nice - Have heard them, been around them, and had tags in my pocket - but yet to see one.

Nice country to visit for a hunt, but I can't imagine living in a place where one can chainsaw water!! :(

Don’t need ice cube trays.

Agree....great video for a first timer....and working all alone too! Where was that side by side he used in the beginning! Believe I would have walked back to pick it up.

May have kept the motor vehicle away to keep the blind secret and or not train the wolves.
That one was pretty skittish.

Heck of an accomplishment. He definitely put in the work and also did a pretty darn good job of getting it on video.
Just my opinion, wolf is the most difficult game animal in North America, unless you just happen to have a bucket load of luck.

Magnificent critter! Definitely a bucket list trophy!
Thanks for sharing.

I agree.

They are hunted here and they know it.
Some areas the season is open 9.5 months per year.
Timber Wolf
A Resident may, without a licence, hunt timber wolf from the opening of any big game season to May 31, 2019, or until June 15, 2019 where black bear seasons are open until June 15, 2019.

I wish they'd do that here in Saskatchewan.

Hell, we grow so many that we ship them to the US to help reduce Elk hunting opportunities.
I know my buddy in Montana sends his love for the Timber Wolf gift we sent. :ROFLMAO:

A very credible job for a first timer. I wonder where he got all of his intel. from.

I think it's good old fashioned leg work. Looking and listening.

Plenty of love from Idaho as well! :A Voodoo: Maybe you guys could start shipping some to California and New York?

I hunt wolves every winter from November through April. Usually spend around 20 days a year at it and I’ve been doing that for 5 years. I have never shot a wolf. My hunting partner has shot 1. So I guess that is not something to brag about! :ROFLMAO:
Here in Idaho we cannot use bait, unless you are a licensed trapper and have completed the state’s wolf trapping course. We can buy 5 wolf tags over the counter for $12 each. A trapper can buy an additional 5 trapping tags, and a trapper can use his hunting tags for trapping. They are upping the tag numbers this year to 10 and 10.
I don’t think an Idaho wolf would ever come out in the open like the wolf in the video. At least not in the daylight. They have been hunted and trapped enough, mostly unsuccessfully, to be smart and skittish as hell. I know a very good full time trapper who has done pretty well in the past, but has trapped zero wolves this year. He has more than 200 traps out.

Hi Jon,
I saw your post for the .500 NE cases. Are these all brass or are they nickel plated? Hard for me to tell... sorry.
Thanks,
