Hi there, I hope you have better luck with those guys out of SA because they told me today that because of the buff they would not fly my trophies out of Zimbabwe. Thank you so much.

Any reason given as to why not

I’ll keep you filled in as the days go by but it seems things are changing everyday. They said it was because of the buff being one of the big five.

Thank you I’ll do the same as the buff in avatar is one of my trophies from this trip in 2018 I need to get home

I would contact somebody like Coppersmith (http://www.huntingtrophy.com/) and they could figure out a way to get them shipped.

FedEx and UPS still handle trophies. DHL, which is big in Africa, does not handle trophies.

@Hank2211 just mentioned a middle eastern alternative that worked from Zimbabwe.

Have you tried Turkish?

You may have to have them trucked to RSA and then shipped from there.

Ron’s wildlife import in Richmond next to YVR should be able to point you in right direction.

Going in Sept to Zim and because of the Cape Buff only way home will be through Turkey I believe. They know their stuff.

We are losing this war....... the collectively outraged mob is going to gradually squeeze us, this sport, and the industry/people that support and depend upon it, out of existence

Try Dale Warren with Talon Distrubuting out of Edmonton he’s good at getting things done.

Dale does a great job, he is working on a shipment from Namibia for a friend that is stuck in SA due to the Cargo Lux crap. Good luck and let us know how it works out.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
