Wintershoek/Johnny Vivier Safaris had the pleasure of welcoming Steban & Sofia Camarena, our honeymoon couple from Mexico, to our Wag 'n Bietjie camp based inside the Wintershoek Private Game Reserve. Pro Hunter extraordinaire, John Tinley was on hand to guide the young couple and the hunt went off very well.

All the way from Cochrane, Alberta in Canada, it was great to once again welcome Gene & Sharon Skappak for a couple weeks on a Big game & antelope safari in South Africa... Wow! What a humdinger this hunt turned out to be! Johan & Andries took Gene and Sharon up north of the country to Johan's concession that is boarded by Letaba and the Kruger National park.

It was a real treat to have our friends, Petter Lyngstadaas, Halvdan Nicolaysen, Caspar Wohlfart, Bjorn Birkelund (1st timer) & Christiaan Frei from Norway back again hunting at Thuru and Wintershoek. Our Ph's Jacques, Ben, Yvan and Calvyn took charge of the hunters in both camps and once again the men enjoyed themselves tremendously with great camaraderie being the essence of the trip.

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
