That's crazy, I'm not sure how I would have handled that honestly. They said to leave it in, my first reaction would have been pull it out. I do carry a first aid kit that has more than the few things they call for there. Hope to never put any of it to use.

I tried archery before I was 10 years old and almost put my right eye out.
That made me switch back to BB guns.
Never shot a bow since.

I have seen a lot of crazy bow accidents over the years. Been on the receiving end of one of those in 2011. Customer let bow slip from hand at full draw. Lucky was only field point and I blocked it somewhat with forearm. Still spent a few days in hospital.
Have a pic if y’all want me to post. Took it in the face

Sorry for asking, but please post. Sounds horrific.

What are the chances of just walking into a "lost" arrow ? So I have to ask the question did the hunter genuinely walk into a lost arrow or did the hunter somehow injure himself ?

I hear you, especially 2nd time in 2 years in the same area. Sounds fishy!

Damn Apaches got my buddy Mark! Glad you lived through that one, can’t believe I’ve never heard that story! Negligent Discharge with a bow in the gun store. Holy Cow

What are the chances.....
A whole bunch of years ago dog and I travelled to Virginia to chase Grouse in the mountains with a good friend.. We were hunting along moving water in an Oak forest with plenty of Mountain Laurel along the water's edge providing good cover for the Grouse, which was evident by the numbers we had in the air and the good dog work on the ground. At the time I was wearing a pair of Carhartt double faced pants and Filson waxed canvas chaps, while pushing through a short run of Laurel I felt a tug on my left knee, looking down I saw an arrow stuck in medial side of my knee and the knock of the arrow on the ground. I pulled the arrow and dropped my pants to find a nifty slice along the inside of my knee, pulled up my pants and mentioned to my friend that I thought a trip to the ER was in order About 40 stitches later and a soft cast I got to spend the rest of the hunt with the dog beside the fire ...
PS the next day I made my friend drive me back to the cover and hobbled around until I found the Arrow ... it resides today above his door in his library

Hi Jon,
I saw your post for the .500 NE cases. Are these all brass or are they nickel plated? Hard for me to tell... sorry.
Thanks,
