Good day all,

I will use this thread to keep the members posted on our season's progress. This year I decided not to book too many hunts, as I am finalising some further studies and need to invest my time into this journey.

Nonetheless, we still need to do what we love. And we have some enjoyable trips booked for the 2025 season

First up was a group of friends from the US who booked a horse riding/photographic safari. As a family-run outfit, we try to offer some unique safaris and utilize all resources.

My kids have a big love for horses, and for this reason, we own six Friesian horses, and when the inquiry came about a horse-riding safari, we said, let's do it.

Here is the video of their trip.

Next we made time for a family hunting trip. With my boy that turned nine this year it was his turn to become a hunter. We as a family enjoy hunting different areas each year, but this gem in the bushveld is one of our favourate places.

The young man on his first session out. We covered 6.5km on foot this morning but with the heavy rains received late in the season getting a clear shot on his target was an issue.

That afternoon we got lucky and he made a perfect shot on this 23.5inch impala with the 6.5x55 Swede to get his first animal.

Unfortunatelt there are some traditions one has to go through when you become part of the hunting society in this family.

MY youngest daughter made a perfect shot with the .308 to put this one in the salt.

On the last evening dad also managed to get some meat for the freezer with this 40" gemsbuck cow.

My oldest was our chaufeer for the weekend and unfortunately she did not get a chance to shoot at something, so i guess on the next trip she will be first on the trigger. At least she managed to get some good driving lessons in during the trip.

And the best is to have my lovely wife by our sides doing what we love most.

Now back to work and preping for the first hunters to arrive in camp at the Bos & Dal main lodge

Next up was a family from the US living in Angola, that joined us for a 4-day hunt.

What happened next was the first time i ever seen this happened. When the Sable was shot he ran straight into a tree and broke of both his horns

You will not meet a better family to hunt with. Congrats on that 1st kill

Congratulations to your son and daughter, plus the first group of the year. The sable can be fixed by the taxidermist or one very interesting broken horn mount

Gerrit best of luck with your studies and your safari season!

Nice report of some good times. Love the horse idea and your family hunt photos. That sable knocking off his horns is wild.

Next we had a father and Son in Law joining us for trip:

I have an unfired T rex 577 if anyone is interested in acquiring it . Absolutely spotless, flawless and well kept . It's rare as it gets . Mouth watering ? Let me know if you feel like making an offer .

I just saw Budsgunshop.com has both the guide gun and the African for $1150. FWIW - I bought both and decided to use the Guide gun - I restocked it in a Bell and Carlson stock and I added the Alaska arms floor plate to add a round. I wanted the shorter barrel as I will use a suppressor. I wont go lower than $1100, but I will ship it and no sales tax.

Let me know if you are interested
