I have a Blaser S2 in a 500 Nitro. I’m interested in putting a red dot on it. Has anyone tried the Blaser RD 20 red dot? If so, what your opinions? Thanks
It’s to high in my opinion, fine if you have an adjustable comb, but you don’t on a S2. I don’t have one on my Blaser PH stock either. The best option for good cheek weld is the Henneberger mount with four feet. I have two of these both with Docter 3 red dots. They enable really good cheek weld. You can get them for an Aimpoint as well, but I like the lower and more compact Doctor red dots, or one of the many brands that use the doctor footprint.
I've seen that mount on a few occasions and it is very low to the bore. My issue is that the Noblex sight isn't offered in a dot that's smaller than 3.5MOA. I'd really like something like 1 or 2 MOA for this.
@Mountaineer - I've seen the RD20 on a rifle and it's about the same height as using a scope. I would say that it's more than durable enough for use on your rifle if you so choose. Especially since it's all Blaser parts on a Blaser rifle...almost like they were made to go together!
Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.
