You all suck!!! I bought one, yes, one complete rifle and a magnum bolt head from @TOBY458, then a 375 H&H was available. Well, since I already had a bolt, why not get the barrel. Then, a nice wood stock came available and a great deal on a Jaeger receiver. Oh and there is a future 257 Weatherby barrel. See where I’m going with this. I’m sure @spike.t and @Bob Nelson 35Whelen are going to take away my man card

Shame on me, but I fail to understand what these aftermarket scope bases offer that the factory Blaser bases do not

Interestingly also, I must have detached & reattached 9 different scopes on 9 different Blaser barrels a few hundred times without ever paying attention to which lever I tighten first, and I have never had any issue with return to zero nor accuracy, all barrels shoot 1+ MOA off the sticks and sub MOA from the bench - the difference being me - with Barnes or Weatherby TSX or TTSX factory ammo (hunting) or PPU ammo (training).

I am curious as to what Blaser documentation exists (?) regarding a sequence to mount the bases, as I had never heard about it and I remember distinctly Andrej Gorjup, Blaser USA shop foreman, telling me that it does not matter in which sequence the barrel bolts or the scope bases levers are tightened.


PS: obviously dabbing scope bases or dovetails in oil should be an intuitive no-no due to both unwanted friction loss, and thickness of oil film, but that is not specific to Blaser

The INNOMOUNT QD took the Blaser QD mount to the next level.

The fact that the lock is a lever and not a rotating cam allows more scopes to be mounted that have turrets on the left side for better eye relief. I've had this complaint from two other AH members about the Blaser mount, albeit not on a rail mounted scope.

Tension is adjustable via a Torx (or Allen key, I can't remember) instead of a flat bladed screwdriver. Much more positive engagement and I own the full complement of sizes for flat blades.

Less expensive...by nearly half. With the same German quality and perfect return to zero. I have one on my AR for a Pulsar thermal scope.

The innovation is small, but it's there...especially considering the price.

I've never tightened the barrel/stock nuts in a specific order, nor the scope QD/barrel cams in any particular order and had a 100% return to zero with my Blaser mount. The Contessa mount tightens both at the same time with a cam, so no problems there either.

The INNOMOUNT QD on my AR is the same. I'm not conscious of which one I'm tightening first and I'm sure it's not the same every time, but it still returns to zero with no problems.

This is my 500 Jeffery with a Henneberger mount that keeps my head firmly supported on the stock.
It makes a massive difference compared to the standard Blaser saddle mount.

I’ve been looking at that one. Trying to figure out what sights fit the same footprint and have a MOA dot that’s 2 or less. The 3.5 MOA dots are too big IMO.

I went through the same process many years ago. I don’t use a red dot for longer range or small targets. I find the 3.5 much quicker to get off a second shot in bright sunlight. But that’s my eyes, everyone’s different.

Not sure if you have seen this before, but maybe it will assist you.
All the below red dots use the Docter Optic footprint. Personally I like Noblex and Leica.
